At St Thomas More, supporting charities is an important part of how we live out our faith in action. Inspired by the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, we encourage our children to see the face of Christ in everyone — especially in those who are poor, vulnerable, or in need.
Catholic Social Teaching calls us to:
- Respect the dignity of every human person
- Care for the poor and vulnerable
- Promote peace and justice
- Stand in solidarity with others
- Be stewards of God’s creation
By raising money, giving time, and learning about the needs of others — both locally and globally — our pupils grow in compassion, empathy, and a sense of responsibility. Supporting charities helps children understand that their actions can make a real difference in the world, and that faith is something we live, not just something we learn.
Whether we are fundraising for CAFOD, local food banks, or international aid, these acts of charity help to build a community rooted in love, service, and Gospel values.

The whole school enjoyed the Big Lent Walk and we managed to raise £1050 in April 2026
