Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week
We are pleased to share with you that Children’s Mental Health Awareness week this year is next week: 1st-7th February.
The last 12 months have brought new challenges that have affected each of us in individual ways and have emphasised how vital taking care of one’s mental health is. Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life but the foundations of mental well-being begin in childhood.
Our mental health is something we should all nurture and protect- just as we do our physical health! Part of being mentally healthy is accepting yourself for who you are and expressing your uniqueness with pride. That is why this year’s Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week theme is ‘Express Yourself’!
Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through creativity. This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film, and doing activities that make you feel good.
We have created the bank of resources below to help your child do just that!
